Bountiful, Utah (13 January 2014) – The Aurora Awards, an international competition that recognizes excellence in the film and video industries, recently awarded Bountiful-based Market Vision Media (MVM) a Gold Award for their Foundations in Wine – Level One video course. The course, submitted in the “Educational” category, was judged on its professional execution, quality, content, and creativity.
Ryan Black, owner of MVM, submitted the course to the prestigious competition because of the accolades it’s received from viewers. Black explained, “This project wasn’t just a powerful and engaging video training course – it was a showcase for the talent we have ‘behind the camera’. Being able to produce consistently superior work takes a lot more than good equipment – it takes a creative team with artistic vision. I’ve always known that the talent we have behind the camera is what drives our success – and this international award proves it.”
MVM is a Utah-native company that provides marketing and training video production services for clients nationwide, including industry leaders such as Adobe, Walmart, Costco, and The Home Depot.
The Culinary Wine Institute (CWI), a Park City-based, online wine sales education and certification company, commissioned the project. Kirsten Fox, CWI founder and CEO said, “I loved working with MVM, but I had no idea they were submitting our course to this competition, which I’ve heard described as the ‘Academy Awards for non-entertainment video.’ It was really fun getting the call that we had won, and when I saw the quality of the other winners, I was stunned.”
The award-winning course teaches key concepts to restaurant servers. They are delivered via self-paced, online, video training which incorporates media-rich learning experiences – graphics, audio, pop-up quiz questions, and focused exams – to teach great career-advancing skills.
Submissions to the Aurora Award contest came from as far as India, United Kingdom, Croatia, Canada, Greece and Denmark. Fellow Aurora winners were John Deere, Microsoft Corp., Stanley Black & Decker, Disney Cruise Lines, Kiwanis International, Tyco, National Restaurant Association, Dow Chemical Company, American Heart Association, Special Olympics, Cisco, and Vanguard.
